Can you spell SMART? Because it's so IN!
In terms of cliques in university, ranks on cool to total loser don't matter at all. The people one would connect with are most likely friends they've known for quite sometime. In a sense, at university/college , the atmosphere is more mature and grown up unlike high school. According to me the need and wanting to be popular and with the in crowd has lost it's taste because only the one with the brains survive here. Which is why I believe that the SMART KIDS are IN and the once COOL and POPULAR are OUT! After observing a few of my classes i still notice the once popular kids still very out going and always looking their best with a crowd of friends, but the "rep" they had has no presence in the classroom unless they are some what intelligent. Unlike the smart kids, who may have a 4.0 G.P.A., really stand out in the classroom mostly because they know every answer to the questions the professor asks and actually speak out. Now that's intimidating! Since it is university it's perfectly normal cause we're all here to get ahead in learning about what we want to be, career wise, and not to try and be someone we're not. What a milestone in growing up! Just realizing right now what's important boggles my mind cause I am still thinking about high school and actually liking the clique, ranking system that I sort of feel lost to my place in university. I guess my professor is right, that if any one is trying to become the coolest kid and trying so hard to fit in back in high school lose it, cause none of that matters. Though the popular will always be good looking and have everything they want, people do change and what gets one through life is their brain. I've always known that, but i guess actually living and taking it in to change just came into reality now.

Comfy Casual VS Skin Tight Awkward
In my state of mind I do believe that dressing well in a fashion sense is important, but not to the point where one is completely uncomfortable. Adjusting from high school to a business office environment then back to school (university) has affected the way i choose to dress. Up until now I realized that dressing appropriately to my surroundings makes more sense then to dress to impress. However people do have their own intake on what suits them in terms of wardrobe, which is fine. I discovered though, roaming through campus that the best way to go is to be comfy in my clothes. After all I am just there to learn and I kind of wish that i knew that back in high school! Although there is a side of me that wants to dress up from time to time and I know that if I do start to feel the pain of the high sticks (stiletto pumps) I shouldn't complain about it too much. So right now comfy shoes, not so fitted clothing is totally IN and high sticks, tight attire are OUT unless I'm going somewhere else that's not school. What comfy is to another person is completely their preference and I just happened to discover a different way to dress. Thank God for KEDS!
